These elements are obtained by plants from the soil and are crucial for physiological processes, such as photosynthesis, respiration, and the formation of proteins, nucleic acids, and cell structures. A deficiency in any of these minerals lead to an abnormality in proper functioning of the body or diease. Around 105 mineral elements have been discovered so far.
