What is Use of BO ID?
Your BO ID is an essential piece of information for various demat-related activities, including:
- Applying for Initial Public Offerings (IPOs)
- Authorizing your holdings for certain transactions
- Resetting your CDSL TPIN (Transaction PIN)
Important Note: If you opened your Zerodha demat account before September 15th, 2015, your account might be held with IL&FS (another depository participant) instead of CDSL. In that case, your DP ID will be different (IN300095).
By understanding your BO ID and its role in your Zerodha demat account, you can ensure a smoother experience when managing your investments.
What is BO ID in Zerodha?
Investing in the stock market often involves opening a demat account to hold your shares electronically. Zerodha, a popular Indian brokerage firm, uses the Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL) as the depository for its clients’ demat accounts. When you open a demat account with Zerodha, you’ll receive a unique identification number called a BO ID.
