Flashover Test
In high voltage testing, the flashover test is an electrical test performed to determine the voltage value at which a flashover occurs over the surface of insulators. Where, a flashover is nothing but an electrical discharge that occurs between conductive parts due to high electric voltage.
This high voltage test is important to evaluate the following parameters:
