High Voltage Frequency Test
In high-voltage electrical systems, insulation failure of equipment generally occurs due to high-frequencies in power supply. These high-frequencies are basically the results of switching and other transient phenomena. Therefore, we have to perform some tests to ensure that the insulation material used in the equipment can withstand with these high-frequency conditions.
Therefore, in high voltage testing, we perform a high voltage frequency test through which we evaluate that how the insulation material and other components respond when they are subjected to a high-frequency voltage.
The high voltage frequency test is mainly used to test the performance of electronic components used in radio-freqeuncy circuits and high frequency power transformers.
Hence, we can state the purposes of the high voltage frequency test, they are:
- To determine the response of insulation material and other components under high frequency electrical voltage.
- To evaluate the performance of electrical insulation under high-frequency operating conditions.
