Tianjin University (TJU), formerly known as Peiyang University, is a historic public research university in Tianjin, China. It was founded in 1895 by a decree from the Guangxu Emperor, making it the oldest university in China. Tianjin University has played a crucial role in China’s journey towards modernization and growth. It is supported and funded by the Ministry of Education of China and is recognized under Project 211, Project 985, and the Double First-Class Construction initiative.
