He contributed to the American Revolution in many ways. He was an author, printer, scientist, and diplomat. He served as a diplomat in France and supported the cause of revolution. He was also a key person in drafting the Declaration of Independence and the Treaty of Paris. His diplomatic skills played an important role in negotiating the Treaty of Paris in 1783 which officially ended the Revolutionary War. Later, he guided the Constitutional Convention.
