Wine Production And India
India’s wine industry has been growing steadily. In 2023, the All India Wine Producers Association (AIWPA) said wineries made 1.4 crore liters of wine from 20,000 metric tonnes of grapes. Most of India’s wine comes from Maharashtra and Karnataka, with 72 out of 110 wineries in Maharashtra. Other places making wine are Nashik, Pune, Bangalore, Hampi Hills, Bijapur, and Nandi Hills. These regions have a subtropical climate with two clear seasons, which has helped wine production since the 1980s.
